Weaving workshop

Description

A 2.5 hour weaving workshop where you will be able to learn the ins and outs of the weaving process, have a go at weaving on a 4 shaft table loom, and produce paper weaves greetings cards. There are 6 spaces available on the workshop, if you are unable to book the amount of spaces you'd like due to availability, please get in touch via the 'message the tutor' button as we might be able to book another date, or if you have a party of 6 or more (hen-do, birthday, gift) we can make a private booking for yourself. What will happen at the workshop? The workshop will start with a small introduction to AJW, followed by a talk and demonstration on the process of weaving, such as how to plan a warp, set up a loom and plan your weft patterns and weave. You will then create paper weaves from weft patterns, to experiment with colour proportions and pattern and help understand the fundamentals of weave. The best of your paper weaves you will make into greetings cards to take home (up to 3). One at a time you will be able to have a go at weaving, on a 4 shaft table loom, setting the weft patterns come to life on the loom. What is the accessibility? Sandbach Art Room has two steps to access the building and has a wheelchair ramp that can be placed over the stairs. It does not have a disabled toilet and the access to the toilets is not big enough for a wheelchair, it is a short walk from the main room. If you require any further assistance, please do get in touch. Please arrive 10 - 15 mins before the workshop starts for a prompt start. If the workshop has less than 3 participates booked 48 hours prior, it may be cancelled by myself due to costs.

What's included in the price?

You don't need to bring anything to the workshop, all equipment is provided. Little refreshments will be provided.
