Saturday & Sunday 17th & 18th May Over two full days you will handstitch your own beautiful bowed empire lampshade, with the option of a flat or scalloped base. Sharon has lots of beautiful fabrics and trims to choose from but please feel free to bring your own as well and we can see if it will be suitable. YOU WILL LEARN TO • Choose and prepare your frame for this technique • Learn how to create and fit your fabric to the frame • Learn the traditional stitches used for lampshade making • Make a balloon lining • Finish your shade with either a handstitched bias edge or your choice of trimmings •

Folkingham Creative Arts is a creative arts school based in a former junior school in the beautiful conservation village of Folkingham, Lincolnshire We offer weekly classes in upholstery as well as a diverse range of creative workshops, including; printmaking, fused glass, felting, traditional lampshades, silver jewellery and pottery to name a few - all taught by experienced tutors. Accommodation, within walking distance of the school is available.
