Description
Once you have done a beginners course, or had a chance to play with some silver clay yourself, you might want to learn some more advanced techniques. This full day course will give you an opportunity to make a decorated ring from silver clay. What will you learn? There are a few choices on this course, you can make a ring with a glass stone, with a silver clay decoration on or with some texture or carving around it. You will learn how to size it and work out shrinkage so your final piece is the correct size. Depending on the ring you make, you will learn different types of textures and techniques for adding decorations You will learn the process for sizing, cutting and seamlessly joining the ring shank, then making the decorations to add afterwards. The ring can be thin, thick, rounded or flat, there is plenty of scope in this workshop for your own design. Once dried I will explain some techniques for decorating the ring, adding feature pieces or decoration around the shank This workshop can be used as practice for part of the level 1 Diploma course, which includes 2 rings. Please note, you will need some experience of working with metal clay to get the best out of this course
