Start a Silversmithing Adventure; Make a Silver Pendant

X

Description

This workshop offers you the chance to make a silver pendant from start to finish. It's a great way to learn about and use silversmithing techniques that form the foundation of almost all jewellery making. You will be guided to create a design for a pendant (no drawing skills needed!) You will use a torch to prepare your silver so you can create textures by using a rolling mill. Soldering is an exciting part of the workshop and cleaning your silver will surprise you with its various and unexpected methods. After the session you will go home with a beautiful shiny silver pendant you will be proud of and that will last forever! There will always be a kettle ready to boil. Practical info: Health and Safety is important and I'll give guidelines as to what to wear. A minimum of two people is needed to run the course and there's a maximum of four attendants (If more we can discuss this). I normally run these workshops from 14:00 - 17:00. During school terms not on a Monday or Friday. For different options, drop me a line. You can also book or contact me for an individual place and I'll put you on the waiting list and I'll run the workshop when I have two or more people. If a minor would like this workshop, they need to be in the company of a participating. Min age: 13 (a very responsible one, who might not be able to do all parts of the process).

For more than 17 years I have provided after school Art Clubs and I still love it, but I have always wanted to work with adults so I get to work with materials and techniques that need more time and are too advanced to use with kids. I also want to prove that everyone can enjoy being creative and make something they are happy with. So far it works. After a Colourbuzz workshop everyone goes away with work they are proud of and pleased with! I offer workshops in my studio, but I can also travel and work with groups of all ages. Using my experience of working with primary school kids, I'm also happy to travel to a home/venue to do creative activities for a birthday party. I have completed a Creative Crafts Course an Advanced Silversmithing course and hold QTLS Status. In addition I am DBS checked.
