Description
Beginners and intermediates fused glass making course with our specialist tutor Helen. Both suitable for beginners and also those who already have a little experience of using glass before, and want to explore different techniques. In this session we will be be exploring screen printing patterns onto the surface and glass fusion with metal detail inserts. After a brief introduction to the language of glass, you’ll practice scoring, cutting, and layering. Using sheet glass, explore a range of techniques using brightly coloured strings and ribbons and adding texture and depth with frit. Direction will be given in detail to allow you to follow your own designs, and once you’ve created you’re unique pieces they will be fired in a kiln. Once the basic techniques are established, you will create unique pieces such as items of jewellery, candleholders, coasters, soap or small trinket dishes, decorations suspended from beautifully delicate organza ribbons, sun catches, glass curves and more! This workshop session is not suitable for under 14s. With over 22 years of teaching experience, you can be sure of receiving all the support, guidance and encouragement you need in order to achieve your full creative potential.
What's included in the price?
You will have your own pack of tools and materials along with access to additional supplies of glass, etc. You will be provided with an apron and safety goggles/masks. Your items will be fired after the workshop and ready for collection within seven days. Items can also be posted for a cost of £7.50. Refreshments included.
