Seaglass Ring Workshop - Silver Workshops in Cornwall
Description
In this extremely popular and fun 4 hour, small group workshop, you will be given an introduction to making a unique sterling silver and fine silver seaglass ring with a demonstration. Once the basics are covered, you'll set out on the fun part - the making! During the 4 hours, you will learn to design your own ring from scratch by choosing your seaglass piece. You'll then pierce-saw and cut sterling silver making both the band and back plate for the bezel. You'll closely wrap your seaglass with fine silver and make a bezel, soldering the back plate, bezel and band all together - easier said than done! You'll file, solder, form metal, buff and polish and set seaglass with me on hand to help from start to finish. You'll be surprised how much you can learn in 4 hours! All materials are included in the price - sterling silver, fine silver and seaglass as well as all the tools required to make a high quality ring, ready for you to take home with you at the end of the workshop. Refreshments are provided as well as a good dose of fun! If you would like to bring your own seaglass then you are very welcome to. Seaglass needs to be no bigger than 1.5cm x 1.5cm and 5mm deep. It should sit flat on a table with no/little wobble, but if you're unsure, then bring it all along and we can have a good rummage together to find the right piece! Free onsite parking is available as well as fully accessible facilities. The minimum age for this workshop is 14 due to the use of extreme heat and chemicals. Children to be accompanied by a participating adult, please. Bookings are non-refundable, however, if you are unable to make a workshop for any reason after booking, I will always try to accommodate a change of date where possible.
