This is the standard workshop intinerary, but this can be fully ammended and designed to your needs. Start - The workshop will start and you will be invited to join the workshop table filled with beautiful fresh flowers and ambient candles. We will start with an insight into colour mixing and begin the guided painting tutorial. We will recreate one of Sabi’s most popular designs and learn how to paint different flower shapes… This will awaken those creative sparks and you’ll gain confidence working with the paint. Embrace the time to let the new knowledge you’ve learned sink in and think of designs for your own earrings. Second half - After the interval, you’ll be invited back to the workshop table to indulge in mood boards, examples of Sabi’s work and the fresh flowers to draw inspiration for your own designs. We will practice first on paper before painting onto already baked and cut shapes. You have total creative freedom to design your own unique shape combinations and will have the opportunity to paint up to three pairs of earrings. I’ll be on hand to help and guide you through your design. Workshop Ends - The workshop will end, all earrings will be gathered to be professionally varnished and assembled by me in my studio. Sabi is the brand of textile designer and painter Jessica Hall. Jessica grew up surrounded by the North Yorkshire countryside and coastline and is continually inspired by the changing seasons, natural colour palettes and flora. Her passion for pattern design flourished whilst studying Printed Textile Design at Leeds Arts University, where she found a way to showcase her love of nature through wearable art and pattern. Since graduating in 2018, she has gone on to work for successful design studios and has sold her designs globally. With years of experience as a pattern designer, Jessica has started a new venture, creating hand painted polymer clay jewellery in her signature style that is loved by many. 'Sabi' is derived from the Japanese design and lifestyle aesthetic 'wabi-sabi,' which finds beauty in nature, asymmetry, and 'imperfections'. Jessica’s ethos for the brand echoes this ideology, with elegant, one of a kind designs. Every pair is completely unique, hand painted and although faultlessly crafted, are beautifully imperfect. Jessica’s emphasis on craft is shown throughout her collections, resulting from a careful process of designing, sculpting, hand painting and glossing. Each pair takes hours to create in her North Yorkshire studio. Sabi accessories are beautiful works of art and wearable bouquets for your ears, they make great gifts for yourself or for loved ones to cherish.
