Description
This is an opportunity to make your own original print en Plein Air! Be inspired by the views across Mounts Bay and or get creative with your imagination in a fast and easy Printmaking workshop. With so many print processes to choose from, Plein air Printmaking is suitable for all ages and abilities! It's a lot of fun too. Join Oliver in his studio garden, overlooking St Michael's Mount in Marazion Cornwall. He'll also be sharing his experience of using various printmaking processes En Plein Air. Many of these unique techniques include mono-printing techniques, which help to capture moment-by-moment effects right there and then, thus making each artist's proof into a unique original fine art print. You might think that you need to first be practiced at other art forms such as drawing and painting, but printmaking can be a very accessible process without needing to even know what you are doing :)! With the use of the mobile workshop facilities, we will be working directly in the open air, making and proofing images without leaving the view. You will be able to experiment with a number of Printmaking processes, such as engraving and drypoint, etching, woodblock and mono-printing techniques. Tuition is made available on an individual basis to further encourage your preferred approach. The beauty of this experience allows people to work at their own pace. Most people joining for two or more days will return home with an average of 3 different printmaking processes experienced, multiple proofs showing the process, final finished proof and sometimes a part edition ready for sale in their next show. The cost of this course is £95 per person per day. It's completely fine to plan to join us for a number of days. We may well be able to offer accommodation. Please contact Oliver (via the 'message the tutor' button) for more information.
What's included in the price?
We can provide you with all art equipment and materials that you might need for this workshop. Materials will be available to purchase as used. The average daily cost for materials is between £6 and £18 per day. Please feel free to bring your own preferred arts materials as well as an A3 sketchpad and a range of pencils eg: H + B + 2B + 6B + EE pencils. However, this is not an essential requirement. Please do not hesitate to contact Oliver for advice on materials. Where possible we will want to offer a buffet lunch as we find that a little bit freshly made comfort food by someone else goes a long way when out in the all the elements! However, this is not always possible, in which instance you will be encouraged to bring your packed lunch etc with you.
