Pewter Casting - Beginner - At Home In Your Own Time

This fantastic kit is the perfect way to experience the joy of learning to cast pewter to fit around your life and in your own timescale. The kit provided ensures you not only have everything you need to complete the course but also all the tools so that you can carry on creating amazing pewter pieces afterwards. This exciting process involves making and using moulds, melting and pouring the pewter, finishing and polishing your design, and turning it into jewellery. By the end of the workshop you will have completed 4-6 pieces in a variety of techniques, finishes and styles. This series of exercises is the equivalent of a full day course (including making time) and will enable you to feel confident enough to keep making it on your own afterwards. If you need any help at any point I can be available on email and WhatsApp so you're never on your own! And even if you have any questions or need help after the sessions you can always get in contact. I love to help and hear how you got on. Please allow 7 - 10 days for delivery of your kit.

What's included in the price?

All your materials and tools are included as well as all the video tutorials that you will need. Help is also available by WhatApp and email.

What you will need

A clean, safe place to work when using the provided blow torch on a heat mat. A drill (a hand drill is fine if you do not have a power tool), a scrap piece of wood to drill onto, a craft knife and mat or scissors, hammer and centre punch and a pair of pliers if you have them (don't worry if not). A WiFi connection and access to a computer large enough to view the tutorials clearly and with the ability to play sound.

Rachel Ellen – Craftsperson & Tutor Trained as a graphic designer, I spent 15 years teaching Art & Design and Design Technology, sharing my love of creativity with students of all ages. Craft has always been my passion, not just for the joy it brings but for the skills, confidence, and sense of accomplishment it fosters. Now based in the beautiful Shropshire hills, I feel privileged to welcome crafters from across the UK and beyond to my studio—and now online—to explore traditional and contemporary craft techniques. My teaching is all about supporting each person’s creative journey in a way that works for them, focusing on skill development, sustainability, and making long-lasting pieces. Thoughtful material choices and minimising waste are at the heart of my practice, ensuring that craft remains both joyful and responsible for generations to come.
