Peg Loom Weaving Workshop in Hebden Bridge
Description
Learn the wonderful craft of peg loom weaving and make a seat pad, pet mat or wall hanging to take home with you! Get absorbed in this therapeutic weaving technique, learn a new skill and make a finished product all within one workshop. We will weave with British wool, in a range of natural colours and textures from a variety of rare and native breeds. Weaving with carded (combed) wool or uncombed wool gives a chunky effect and means a mat can be created within a relatively very short time! You'll learn how to warp the loom, how to weave and how to tie off. You'll find out more about the benefits of wool and get tips on how to wash a fleece. This is a wonderful, accessible craft, and peg looms and wool will be available to purchase if you'd like to do more weaving at home.

FAQs
My Peg Loom Weaving workshops could provide the perfect opportunity to for you and your child to learn a new craft together. You are welcome to book a space each for you and your child, if your child is age 10 or over. If your child wants do learn and you don't, there may be a possibility for them to attend and you to accompany to assist as needed. Please get in touch with me as this will depend on the venue and space available.
Due to the nature of the spaces available for workshops - many being old mills - they are often not accessible for wheelchair users or those with limited mobility. This is the case for The Making Mill in Hebden Bridge and Woodend Mill in Mossley. Please get in touch with me if this stops you being able to attend these workshops, as I am looking to hold workshops in other venues for this reason and can make arrangements to do so.
