Enjoy the wonderful technique of Monoprinting. Your experienced tutor, Jo, will teach you the skills for successful Monoprinting, using a variety of marks, masks and materials to produce a series of prints to take home. The class will take place in the converted art & craft barn where you will take in the beautiful surrounding views of Hanwell Wine Estate for inspiration. What you will learn- - How to create a monoprint - How to prepare a plate - How to use found materials to take a print - How to use stencils and masks - How to introduce mark making into a monoprint - How to develop prints experimenting with layering your designs Who is the workshop for? Perfect for all levels of ability, no experience needed. Outline of your session: - Welcome and refreshments - Introduction to monoprint and the tools & materials that we will use - Demonstration of how to ink up a monoprinting plate and how to take a print using flowers, leaves and feathers - Develop individual plates and experiment further with materials including lace and clingfilm - Demonstration of how to create stencils and masks to use on the plate surface to create a print - Create a series print using hand cut stencils and masks - Demonstration of how to introduce mark making and a variety of tools and pressures - One to one support printing individual designs - Discussion, how to take things further with the printing through combining plates and exploring colour - Development and experiments with printing layering you images - Recap, show & tell, depart with your finished Monoprint prints
