Description
Mixed media, in the form of an altered book, uses a range of different materials and techniques to put together interesting and beautiful art spreads. Using collage, paints, inks, pencils, pastels, and stamps, amongst other things, I build up the piece layer by layer. It's a wonderful creative outlet and a practise I've found so good for my mental health and expression. No artistic experience or skills are necessary. Once you learn a few tips and tricks there are no rules and the only limit is your imagination! On my workshop day, we will work together to make a double-page spread, from start to finish, in your own book. Together we will work on: Creating backgrounds Incorporating ephemera Expanding painted patterns Sketching, planning, and painting accents Finishing touches You will leave with the work you produced along with your book to continue on with at home.
