Make Clothes - Frome

Description

'Make Clothes' is a great course for those who have some sewing experience, or made a garment or two. Understand how to use a commercial paper pattern to make a simple garment, such as a basic skirt, top or trousers for first-timers. If you're a refresher wanting to learn more advanced skills, why not try something more challenging like a pinafore, shirt, trousers, or dress with more features. You'll get expert help in a small group, from cutting out your fabric, understanding the pattern instructions to constructing your garment. Your tutor Aliss will guide you through all the necessary steps to help you make your item of clothing. For advanced clothes making, you'll learn simple pattern alterations and more professional finishing techniques such as seam binding, adding facing and lining. Course runs for 5-weeks, 2 hours a week. Borrow a sewing machine for an additional fee. Beginner course available if you're not quite ready for clothes!

What's included in the price?

Tuition fee included, plus downloadable handouts for a range of construction techniques. Also available in the sewing studio: - Sample clothes and patterns. - Garment construction samples, books and resources for reference. - Iron and ironing board. - Cutting rulers and set squares to borrow. - Sewing machines for an additional hire fee. You'll need to purchase your pattern and fabric, thread and notions, get in touch if you need help with this. Please bring your own sewing toolkit where possible.
