Lino Cut Printing at Cowshed Creative in the Lake District near Windermere and Kendal
Description
At Cowshed Creative in the Lake District, we run an extensive range of art, craft, and heritage workshops in our beautifully converted art studio. Enjoy a great day learning the art of linocut printmaking with Polly Marix Evans, whose work features a small and feisty character known as Bun-Head. Polly will talk you through all the processes from sketching your image, transferring it to your block, carving, proofing, and printing a final piece. You’ll work in black and white, with the option to add colour with different paper or dashes of coloured ink applied either with lino stamps or brushes. Polly will also have a selection of her blocks with her, so you can incorporate any of these, including lettering, into your work if you like. Polly Marix Evans is a printmaker based in the Eden Valley in Cumbria. She studied Fine Art Printmaking at The Manchester School of Art. Her prints are empowering, edgy, sensitive and quirky – there is a print for most situations and for almost everyone. Polly is a member of EVAN and Cumbria Printmakers. She regularly exhibits at The Great Print Exhibition at Rheged in Cumbria. The workshop will be at Cowshed Creative, based in a converted Cumbrian barn on our traditional Lakeland Farm between Kendal and Windermere. The art studio is a stunning open plan space, with plenty of room to wander outside and take inspiration from the amazing Lakeland landscape and environment of the peaceful Kentmere valley. Treat yourself to a creative experience - from the fantastic and consistent feedback we have received, you are sure to have a great day!
