Description

A beautiful silver necklace made from a real shell. Handmade in Market Bosworth with the help of the sea in Cornwall. The approximate dimension of this piece is 1.2cm width and 1.2cm length. The limpet shell necklace is a captivating piece of jewellery that brings the raw beauty of the ocean to life. The pendant features an authentic limpet shell, showcasing its unique, conical shape and the natural ridges that spiral outward from the centre. The pendant is set in its natural state, with a small, discreet bail attached to preserve the shell’s organic beauty. The shell hangs from a fine chain that complements the pendant without detracting from its natural charm. This necklace is a perfect accessory for those who love the sea and wish to carry a piece of it with them. It’s lightweight, making it comfortable for everyday wear, yet it has enough character to stand out on special occasions. The limpet shell necklace is a lovely reminder of the ocean's timeless beauty, making it an ideal gift for nature lovers or a meaningful addition to any jewellery collection. This jewellery is designed and hand-crafted by Louise in her Market Bosworth Studio. As the jewellery is hand-crafted there may be tiny variances from the image shown. Louise uses silver clay which, when finished, is 99% pure silver. Each piece comes in a gift box made from recycled materials.

I began my journey into Silver Metal clay whilst running a pottery studio in 2012 and soon became hooked! The magic of turning a piece of clay into a solid piece of Hallmark Silver never fails to amaze me and I love sharing this with my students and helping them create a lovely piece of jewellery that they can wear proudly home makes my job the best. I hold a Higher Diploma in Silver Metal Clay and am a senior metal clay instructor and glass teacher. I have been teaching for over ten years running classes from my studio in Market Bosworth and many jewellery schools and galleries all around the Midlands area. I am a member of The Guild of Jewellers and am on the education committee of the alliance of metal clay. I also hold a Gold student choice award. One of my proudest moments was visiting Tokyo and seeing one of my pieces displayed in the Silver Accessories Exhibition. I would love to meet you on one of my courses so please book as soon as you can. Louise x

FAQs

It is of hallmark standard and if I am selling a piece that weighs over 7.98 grams I have to hallmark it. I have my own hallmark registered with the London Assay Office.

Yes, it is 99% pure solid silver after firing.

I use silver clay, which is pliable, so it can be shaped into many designs that you can create yourself or I can help you with ideas. When you have molded your design in clay, you fire your piece to burn off other substances in the clay to leave a residue of 99% pure silver. You then polish your piece to finish off the process to create an amazing piece of your own unique silver jewellery.

Absolutely. I take every opportunity to look after our special world. I use recyclable packaging and the silver clay itself is made up from recycled material. Components of old mobile phones and out of date hospital x-rays are just examples of material that are recycled into silver clay.

Yes, we have a range of beautiful pieces or contact me if you have a specific request.
