Perfect for beginners and intermediate sewists alike, this hands-on, 12 hour course will guide you through every step of sewing a beautiful and versatile top. Over the duration of four weekly workshops you will learn how to read and follow a commercial sewing pattern; fabric cutting, marking, and construction techniques; sewing machine skills, seam finishes, and garment assembly. Expert guidance will build your confidence and skills, and by working in a group of four students, there will be plenty of opportunities for peer support too! Our students usually choose this sewing course after having completed our “Introduction to your sewing machine” 3-hour workshop. As long as you are fully confident with the settings and features on your sewing machine then this course is for you - you do not need to have made a garment before.
Please bring your machine, foot pedal, machine manual and any extra feet that came with your machine. A pair of scissors, extra bobbins, thread and pins would also be helpful

Please bring your own sewing machine, and a small sewing kit containing bobbins, thread, pins or clips, needles, small scissors and large fabric cutting scissors. Oh, and an unpicker/seam ripper!
