Hi, I’m Heather, ex-primary school teacher and artist for Sandwell Council at Ingestre Hall. I love teaching people painting tips and tricks to achieve success, and passing on my passion for teaching people to paint and be brave enough to give new things a chance has been incredible- I LOVE seeing everyone exceed their own expectations. I also make wedding blackboards and can provide art events for parties, charity events and corporate bookings. I love to see you produce work you’re so proud of and can’t believe you’ve done. I’d love to welcome you to a painting event soon!

FAQs

The Bowling Green and The Dog Inn, Whittington are wheelchair friendly.

Heather chooses top quality acrylic paints for use in her painting experiences. Together with amazing subjects and a good set of brushes, you’ll be super-proud of your painting - promise!

You will use a stretched canvas frame, which once you’ve finished is wall-ready with just a nail in the wall! Most events are painting on a square 30x30cm stretched canvas, some events have the option to add a larger canvas (please contact me in advance if your would like to paint on a 50x50cm canvas and bring £12 in cash on the evening).

NO! Not at all. Heather can teach anyone to paint and is often up to her elbows in paint with a group of children - if she can teach a 7 year old how to paint something they are proud of (and parents want to frame) then she can with adults too!

If we are painting or creating at a pub or workshop space, (The Elements Glass or The Mug Tug Ashore) they all have toilets. The Brewhouse events are upstairs, using the function rooms, the toilets are across the landing and require no further steps. If you attend an event at Lichfield Maize Maze, there are portaloos in the field - please bring hand sanitiser if you prefer.

The Brewhouse in Lichfield requires the use of stairs, if you’re painting in my garden, one step up onto the patio is all which is needed. If you require the bathroom, there is a straight flight of stairs to access as I don't have a downstairs bathroom.

A friend and an apron, failing that, just the apron - we have lots of solo painters who often leave having made friends. Please read the course notes; sometimes I might ask you to bring an old toothbrush or storecard, so that we have enough.
