Jacqueline invites you to slip away into your creative bubble for a professional, skill based workshop tailored specifically to your needs. This fun packed, busy workshop takes place in Jacqueline's own workroom Ebberston, North Yorkshire. You will learn all the traditional techniques required to make elegant bespoke handmade knife pleated lampshades. Is this course for me? Elegant, neat traditional knife pleated shades. Whether for business or pleasure, would you like to learn all the stitches and techniques required to make your own handmade pleated shades to a professional standard? Jacqueline will share the tricks of the trade. What will I learn? During this busy, 2-day workshop you will complete a traditional handmade, pleat lined, knife pleated shade and also gain the confidence to work on a variety of future lampshade projects using traditional methods and hand sewing techniques. Skills include, traditional binding, measuring for pleats for accuracy, tensioning pleats, stitching pleats, bespoke bias trimming and much more ... Who will be teaching me? Jacqueline is creative and talented, with over 20 years of teaching experience. Jacqueline trained in Interior Design and Professional Soft Furnishings with the National Design Academy and now owns JSInteriorsUK, Jacqueline's Bears and Jacqueline's Heritage Embroidery. What will I take home? The knowledge, skills and confidence to make more bespoke handmade lampshades. Oodles of design ideas and inspiration for future projects. Training notes. Information about tried and tested reliable suppliers. And, of course, your first complete, beautiful lampshade. Only minimal sewing experience is necessary, therefore this course is suitable for both the beginner and more experienced, enthusiastic sewer.

What's included in the price?

All course fees are inclusive of a full days of tuition, all lampshade making specialist materials & sundries, including 100% cotton Tana Lawn for the lining & training notes and a light lunch. If you need to cancel for any reason you can book onto another course or a full refund will be provided as long as you cancel within 2 weeks of your start date. We reserve the right to cancel the course if we get insufficient bookings and will aim to provide you with 10 days notice. In the case of Jacqueline having to cancel your fee will be fully refunded.
