Discover "Fly Stitch". If you are a complete beginner this course is for you! Join me in the picturesque village of Netherbury in West Dorset to discover what this effective and simple stitch is capable of in the world of creative textiles. We will be utilising many avenues of creativity to achieve fabulous textures, colour drifts and beautiful imagery. You will be working at your own pace in a friendly, welcoming environment. Personal tuition will be given at every stage and whenever required. You will be able to find your own style and produce unique textural work to frame or develop further as a larger piece. There will be a wide range of beautiful art fabrics, threads and visual resources to inspire you.

What's included in the price?

All materials are included. There will be a wide range of embroidery threads, pure silk, linen and cotton art fabrics to use. All sewing equipment will be available. This includes needles, scissors, embroidery hoops, beads and other resources relevant to the course. A Visual resource table providing images, worked samples and historical pieces for reference, will be displayed to insure you. Tea, coffee and biscuits will be available all day.

Helen Roskell is an experienced tutor with a passion for hand embroidery. She has been teaching creative embroidery techniques throughout the Southwest since 2010. Inspired by the natural world and the stunning Dorset countryside, Helen teaches adults of all ages and abilities the joy of slow stitch using seasonal themes of universal recognition. Her popular courses include wildflower meadows, seascapes, wild birds in flight, marshlands, layered landscapes and textural detailed studies of insects and plant life. Diverse techniques also include hand quilting, printing and fabric collage, silk ribbon embroidery and dry needle felting She often combines several techniques in one piece to illustrate that no single technique is mutually exclusive.
