Description
The IOL Bushcraft Competency Certificate Training Course is an immersive and comprehensive program designed to equip participants with essential bushcraft skills. The course spans three days, offering 24 hours of guided learning under the supervision of highly qualified instructors. After the initial training, students are required to complete a 120-hour consolidation period, where they will practice and refine the skills they have learned, logging their experiences in a logbook to track their progress. A one-day assessment, which is booked separately, will evaluate their competency and mastery of the course material. This course covers eight key units, including: Edged Tools: Safe handling and use of knives and saws for various bushcraft tasks. Fire: Techniques for creating and maintaining fire using modern and primitive methods. Bow Drill: Mastery of traditional friction fire techniques, focusing on the bow drill method. Water: Finding, collecting, and purifying water in the wilderness. Debris Shelters: Building effective, weather-resistant shelters from natural materials. Tree Identification: Recognizing and understanding different tree species and their uses in bushcraft. Natural Navigation: Using environmental cues, such as the sun, stars, and land features, to navigate without modern tools. Cordage: Learning to create strong, natural ropes and bindings from plant materials. All courses are conducted by experienced, Institute for Outdoor Learning-approved instructors, ensuring a safe and supportive environment as participants develop their bushcraft skills. The course is open to participants aged 18 and above, Throughout the course you can enjoy a selection of teas and coffees, as the kettle will be on for you to make a cuppa.

Location: Woodland site near Warminster, Wiltshire Duration: This three day course starts at 9:00 am on the first day and finishing at 5.00pm Last day. including two overnight stays Catering: You will need to provide your own packed lunch on the first day. we will be providing dinner and breakfast And lunch on the second and third day. Any special dietary requirements please contact us at least five days before the start of the course.
