Introduction to Wet Feltmaking, Felted pictures
Description
Learn the ancient craft of wet felting with tutor, Penny Dixon. During this session you will learn how to handle unspun wool and identify a selection of different fibres. You will learn the process of laying the wool correctly so that it will interlock when wet. Using soap and water you will learn a variety of techniques to agitate the fibres, enabling them to form a beautiful strong piece of of felted fabric which you will take home with you. You can create a lovely picture or go wild with an abstract piece! Suitable for beginners or those who wish to revise techniques. Please bring a large towel to work on and a waterproof bag to take damp work home in.

Penny Dixon has been felting and teaching workshops for over 18 years and is a member of the International Feltmakers Association. Also a member of the Heritage Crafts Association and a trained teacher, she also has a Masters in Art, Health and Wellbeing and believes we can all take time out to relax and fulfil our potential.
