Maker
Hello! I am Heather, the creator behind Heather Makes Glass, and as you might have guessed, I'm totally obsessed with all things glass. My work merges traditional techniques with contemporary design to create distinctive pieces that are playful, nostalgic and sometimes a bit spooky. I am inspired by nature, toys from my childhood, and anything silly that makes me smile. I offer stained glass workshops in Harrow, London. I love delivering workshops because I'm a passionate and patient teacher who enjoys sharing my experience and love for glass. Seeing people get creative, experiment, and have fun is what makes teaching so rewarding. Whether you're a total beginner or have some experience, I’m here to guide and encourage you to explore the possibilities of glass art in a relaxed and enjoyable way! Quality and sustainability are super important to me. I carefully source premium materials from trusted UK suppliers and recycle materials whenever possible. I love finding a use for unloved glass!

FAQs
Yes, absolutely! I don’t use any animal tallow in my work or in the workshop, so everything is completely vegan-friendly.
I’ll have a selection of designs for you to choose from on the day. However, if you have your heart set on creating your own design, I’m happy to try and accommodate it! Just drop me a message beforehand so we can ensure your design is suitable for the copper foiling method and can be completed within the workshop time.
Yes - of course! You’re welcome to take a break whenever you need. Snacks and hot drinks will be available for purchase from Oneforty. There are also some small shops nearby but you might want to bring your own lunch. That said, we have a lot to cover during the workshop, so I will keep us focused so you have a finished piece to take home.
You might want to bring your own lunch or snacks for my longer workshops. I also recommend bringing an apron or wearing clothes you don’t mind getting a bit dirty. While stained glass isn’t overly messy, we do use some chemicals that could stain, so it's better to play it safe! You can also bring your own protective gear (gloves, goggles, masks) if you would prefer to use your own.
Introduction to Stained Glass is a shorter session where you will get a more overview introduction to the craft and make a palm sized sun catcher. Stained Glass Workshop sessions are longer more in-depth workshops and you will make a bigger piece to take home.
