Drawing from the wealth of experience from your tutor, you’ll learn the best approaches to showcasing your portfolio as a compelling narrative of your design journey. Through a blend of lectures, hands-on workshops, and constructive critiques, you will immerse yourself in concepts and mood boards, spatial design and floor plans, colour theory, material selection and sourcing sustainable materials, so that by the end of the course you will have engaged in a holistic approach to interior design, exploring the intersection of aesthetics, functionality, and sustainability. You’ll be encouraged and gently challenged to push the boundaries of your designs, refine your portfolio, and cultivate your unique design voice, creating a comprehensive portfolio that reflects your evolution as a designer. During this course, you will: • Explore techniques in showcasing space planning and layout. • Develop cohesive presentation techniques that reflect your personal style and resonate with your target audience. • Gain insights into the best way to demonstrate your ability in selecting materials, finishes and furnishings to create harmonious interiors. • Hone your skills in digital rendering, mood board creation, and presentation layout to effectively communicate your design concepts. • Curate a professional portfolio showcasing your design process, creativity, and expertise. • Understand how to captivate potential clients and leave a lasting impression. By the end of the course, you’ll have the start of a professional portfolio for you to continue adding to after the course, ready to impress clients and be able to effectively communicate your concepts. You will have gained a better understanding of the strategies needed to win projects and navigate client briefs with confidence. Level: Intermediate After completing this course you’ll be well-positioned for a variety of career paths within the field of interior design; armed with a portfolio showcasing your skills and creativity, you can pursue opportunities as freelance designers, design consultants, or in-house designers within design studios. Entry requirement: You should have completed a beginners interior design course at NTU or elsewhere, or have some professional experience. No previous software experience is required, although you must have basic computer skills and be familiar with Windows operating systems and file management.
