Description
Join Ruth Ryder and Bev Bush for our next Heritage Drawing Workshop. Come along to chill, chat, drink coffee and draw. We would love to see you there! In appreciation of the decorative arts and crafts style that is part of the lovely Wayfarers arcade. This stunning Grade II listed landmark, opened on the Lord Street in 1898 as a fine example of Victorian architecture, with its intricate metalwork and glass roof, stained glass windows, tiles and handrails, balconies, and mahogany shop fronts, with less emphasis on excessive ornamentation. We’ll be encouraging you to explore the arcade and fill your sketchbooks with drawings, looking closely at the detail in the beautiful botanical motifs and capturing the decorative flora and fauna and other organic motifs and architectural features that fill the space. Drawing regularly is great for improving your skills but can also be lots of fun and help to reduce the stresses of everyday life! If you’d like to draw along with us in this friendly, relaxed environment, you can book online. All you need to bring are simple materials: - Pencil - Pens or coloured crayons - A rubber - Sharpener - Some paper - A board or book to lean on Share your work on social media so we can see it!
