eCourse Beginners Quilting and Patchwork. Join experienced quilting design teacher Karen Platt online to learn quilting and patchwork for beginners. Work at your own pace from home. This comprehensive ecourse Beginners Quilting enables students to practice and perfect their skills. Follow the advice, information, exercises, tips and projects to become a confidant quilter. On this ecourse beginners quilting You’ll find tips and techniques, tutorials, dozens of exercises and projects, theory, stimulating ideas, suggestions for further work. We’ll discover the nitty gritty of patchwork and quilting so that you can get to grips with the basics and gain confidence as a quilter. Tutor input in a social group page (fb) or by email, personal tutor help is limited to 30 mins per month. There are no essays! This ecourse is entirely machine sewing. Course details You can register for this course any time (there are 5 units delivered one a month i.e. 5 months).

N.B. Modules are sent to your email as PDFs (these are NOT to be shared with anyone). A handbook is provided each month for each unit.

Karen is a fully qualified and experienced teacher of mixed media and quilting, for groups and individuals of any age. She is a hands-on designer maker of textiles, knitwear and quilts. She has been knitting for over 50 years, designing knitwear for over 30 years. She has designed her own textiles for over 20 years. She began quilting less than 10 years ago but designs all her own quilt patterns. Karen has been a teacher for over 40 years. Holding an Honours degree in Spanish and a Post-Graduate Certificate in Education, Karen develops unique e-courses in design, colour and texture.
