Description
This is a new workshop for 2025 and builds on techniques I have been exploring in my own practice. Watercolour is traditionally painted on a flat paper surface. But what happens when you break out of this constraint and introduce an element of texture? During this exciting workshop we will explore working on paper with watercolour ground, collage elements, gesso, tissue paper and modelling paste, experiencing how we can retain the transparent flow and beauty of watercolour but bring in a new 3D element. This is a one-day course and will take place at Micklems Farm in Berkshire. Some experience in using watercolour is helpful! And a willingness to experiment of course. All materials are provided, along with tea/coffee. If you love painting in watercolours you will be provided with plenty of stimulation! You might also be interested in the Watercolour on Canvas day (10 October), as many of these texturing techniques combine beautifully with working on canvas or wood.
What's included in the price?
All artist quality materials are provided, though you may wish to bring reference materials. Tea and coffee throughout the day.
