Fused glass kit ~ LAST POSTING DATE FOR CHRISTMAS IS 16th DECEMBER Create at home Fused Glass Kit. All you need to make your own fused glass scene. With clear photos, written instructions including top tips, this kit will make a 12x11cm scene, and comes carefully packaged in eco friendly re-useable packaging. This kit is intended for adults and children over the age of 14 (with adult supervision at all times). I live and work from my North Cornwall based studio where I make and teach fused glass. Not everyone is able to make it to my studio so I wanted to give more people the chance of making their own fused glass art, so I designed 4 different kits and 'road' tested them with designs, packaging and delivery methods over several months using my lovely friends and family to test them all out! I have 4 different designs which you can find by clicking through to my Pink House Glass page. They have been incredibly popular with my craft market customers, and I wanted to make them available to a wider audience, so I have listed them here on Craft Courses and you have found them! :) Once your order has been received, your kit will be posted out to you via the EVRi delivery system arriving in 2/3 days. Everything you need to make your own fused glass artwork is included in the kit all carefully wrapped in eco friendly packaging which is reused to send your completed kit back to me for firing. Using the clear step by step instructions, photos and top tips, the different coloured glass frit, stringers and precut glass shapes help complete your chosen design. When you have finished making your scene and waited 24hours for the glue to dry, take a photo of your artwork and email it to me with your name and kit number (found on the back of the box). Then wrap your artwork reusing the original eco friendly packing, including all the bits and pieces included in your kit, pop it back in the eco padded envelope the kit arrived in, and post it back to me for firing. By returning the 'kit bits' you are helping to reduce waste as well as keeping the cost of the kits as affordable as possible, and as way of saying thank you for doing this, you will receive a little thank you gift from me! It is a good idea to work on an easily cleaned surface and use a dustpan and brush, or vacuum cleaner, and then a damp cloth to make sure all the bits of glass are removed after you have finished creating your design. I love receiving artwork back in the post ready for firing and I never tire of opening the kiln to see the fired glass ready to be sent back! Each scene made is unique and gives the you, the maker the opportunity of creating your own original piece of fused glass art, which once fired is posted back to you, including the little oak stand ready for you to display your artwork. The cost of sending your kit to you and returning your artwork once fired is included in the price. You are responsible for the cost of returning the kit to me for firing. In these days of alternative delivery systems I leave the choice and cost of how the kit is sent back to me for firing up to you. (This currently varies between £5.20-£3.20 depending on which system you choose to use). These kits make a lovely gift, for those naturally creative or those who have never realised just how good it feels to make something yourself, what better present than the gift of creating! If you have bought this kit as a present, please remember to pass on the eco padded envelope the kit arrives so it can be reused it to send the kit back to me for firing. I want creating this kit to be a relaxed and enjoyable experience, so there is no time limit for returning your completed kit. DUE TO THE NATURE OF UNFIRED GLASS THESE KITS ARE DESIGNED TO BE USED BY ADULTS AND 14YRS + (with adult supervision at ALL times). Please be aware that these kits contain unfired glass which can be sharp. Keep all the contents of the kit away from children and babies. Pink House Glass cannot be held responsible for any loss or injury while using, making or posting this kit. What's included in the price?
The kit box contains :- - A clear piece of hand cut glass, approximately 12cm across. - A selection of small bags of different coloured glass frit- (think caster sugar and Demerara sugar sized pieces)- for the sand, sea, sky, waves and clouds. - Hand cut beach huts and roofs in various bright colours and a yellow dot for the sun. - Some stringers (thin rods of coloured glass) to add the details to your beach huts. - Tools to help your safely create your design; tweezers, a little wooden spoon to help sprinkle the frit, a paintbrush to spread the glue, and a spray fixative. - An guide outline to help you design your scene. - Clear instructions and photos to guide you through creating your own fused glass artwork. - All packing, box and padded eco posting bag to return your item along with a return address label and form for your details and kit number. The cost of returning your finished artwork to you is included in the price of the kit. Please note, in these days of the choice and convenience of alternative delivery options, you are responsible for the cost of return postage to me of your artwork for firing.
What you will need
A few hours to lose yourself in the wonderful world of creating a unique to you artwork, a suitable work surface and area to create. I am a self taught fused glass artist with over 15 years experience of teaching the fascinating art of kiln forming glass. At the various craft fairs I attended, I kept getting asked if I taught classes. Could I.....would I? so I started and I absolutely love it! We live in gorgeous North Cornwall where our lovely spacious studio offers the perfect setting for an Afternoon Taster Course, a Full Day Introduction to Glass Fusing or a One to One course exploring the world of glass fusing. And according to my students, the food's not bad either! :)
