One day create your bespoke leather bucket bag workshop. This is an immersive 6 hour workshop where you'll uncover the art of leatherwork. With expert guidance and an array of tools at your disposal, you'll craft a stylish and practical shoulder bag using beautiful Italian vegetable tanned leather. You will be introduced to the essential tools of the trade, including leather cutting knives, edge tools, creasing tools and stitching and punching irons. Immerse yourself in the world of leather as you select the perfect colour for your creation. Discover the meticulous process of marking patterns on leather pieces and honing your cutting skills to precision. Punch holes and carefully place straps and handles to ensure a seamless assembly. Utilise traditional saddle stitching techniques to bring your bag to life. For added convenience, your bag will feature an internal small pocket, perfect for keeping essentials within reach. You can personalise your creation by adding your initials using an embossing machine, adding a touch of individuality to your bespoke bucket bag. This workshop is suitable for beginners. The classes are run by Sheena with a maximum of three students per class allowing for plenty of individual guidance and support throughout the process. Sheena has over 25 years in the leather goods industry, starting with the Asprey bespoke leather atelier and now collaborating with prestigious brands such as Burberry. Her brand Hamson Handcrafted is dedicated to producing leathergoods using only vegetable tanned leather for a minimal environmental impact. The workshop in Thames Side Studios is situated by the river Thames, set in a calm, creative atmosphere in south east London.
