Learn traditional techniques and craft your own lovely panel or suncatcher for display, or several smaller pieces to give as gifts. Master the traditional techniques of cutting, foiling, soldering, and finishing to craft your own beautiful decoration from glass. Flexible options: Join for a half day session to create a small piece (roughly A5 size), or opt for the full day experience to make a larger piece (roughly A4 size). 🌼 Expert Guidance: Our qualified and experienced instructor will guide you every step of the way. Our commitment to small class sizes will ensure a supportive and engaging learning environment. 🧰 Perfect for Beginners: No prior experience required! Everything! All tuition, tools, glass and other supplies are included, as well as unlimited tea, coffee, biscuits and refreshments. We do not charge extra for glass and there are no hidden costs.
You'll learn traditional stained glass techniques, including glass cutting, assembly and soldering. By the end you'll have created a stunning panel or sun catcher to display in your window or garden.
No prior experience is required! Our workshop is designed for all skill levels, including beginners. Our experienced instructor will guide you through each step, and we have patterns you can make which are suitable for a range of skill levels.
We recommend wearing comfortable clothing and closed-toe shoes. Please also bring your glasses if you use them for close work. Consider bringing an apron or an old shirt to protect your clothes from glass fragments. We have spare aprons with us on the day and can provide you with one if needed.
Lunch is not provided, however there will be several scheduled breaks in which you can enjoy your own packed lunch, or explore the variety of lunch options nearby. There will be a variety of biscuits, cakes and hot drinks available and included in the course cost.
We provide a range of design options which are suitable for a range of experience levels and are designed to be completed in the time allotted. Full day attendees are welcome to bring their own idea, but please email us beforehand. Your instructor can assist you in adapting your design to the stained glass medium. Unfortunately, we cannot accomodate custom designs for attendees on the half day session as this is more of a taster experience.
The workshop runs from 10:30 AM to 4:30 PM, with options to stay all day or for half a day. This allows you to immerse yourself in the stained glass artistry, but there will also be lots of time for lunch and refreshment breaks. Half day runs from 10:30 AM - 1:30 PM.
Our workshop is suitable for participants aged 16 and above. Younger participants are very welcome however, and may join if accompanied by a parent or guardian.
Absolutely. You will most likely finish your project same day. Some finishing touches might be needed, and if so you'll be provided with guidance on final steps to ensure your piece is ready to display.
We provide all the necessary materials, including glass, copper foil, solder etc. We also provide all tools and safety equipment. You'll have access to a variety of glass colors and textures to create your design.
