City life - Collagraph print Original Artwork

Description

Variable edition of 6 prints. Abstract collograph prints printed in shades of blue. This print is handprinted so some minor variation is to be expected in this limited edition. Kent Paper size 15 x 21 cm Print size 10 x 15 cm This print will fit a standard size A5 frame. Every care is taken to photograph artwork, but minor colour variation may occur between original and screen.

How this was made

This is a cardcut collagraph. The plate is made by cutting thin layers from a cardboard base, then introducing layers of texture or areas that can be wiped clean of ink. The plate is then inked up ‘intaglio’ meaning that ink is gently pushed into the texture of the plate. The printing paper is then dampened so that when it is rolled through the printing press, the paper is forced into the plates texture and lifts the ink off the plate. Because the plate is made from materials that degrade with each printing, no two prints are the same.

1 x A5 print, with mount and backboard. I will supply one print from a selection of 6 slightly different prints. Please contact me to find out about availability of a specific print. I try to limit my use of none recyclable materials so your purchase will be wrapped in tissue paper for protection. I am happy to supply in cellophane sleeve if requested.
