A beginners sewing workshop with a Christmas twist! why not come along and learn the basics of sewing, and make some lovely Christmas bunting and gift bags Our Introduction to Sewing course is the perfect way to get started. We’ll get you feeling comfortable with your machine, learning the basics and sewing some great beginners projects, that can be used all year round for special occassions. In this workshop we will be partaking in Christmas merriment, maybe some background music and definitely Christmassy snacks! So do come along if you fancy some festive fun! The cost of this course includes a bunting kit and a gift bag kit, including thread and fabric. Demonstrations will be given throughout the day of how to sew your projects. We will spend the morning learning the machine basics, practicing techniques, and making Christmas themed bunting. In the afternoon we will make reuseable gift bags, very eco friendly! Using your new skills you will sew your project together under guidance and you will leave with the finished items, plus the written instructions as a reminder of the steps you have covered to make them. There’s a lot you will learn, making sure you will leave with the confidence to carry on sewing at home. This class covers: The parts of a sewing machine Threading your machine Winding a bobbin Stitch selection How to change stitch length (and width if your machine has this facility) How to adjust tension Presser feet, how to change them How to sew a straight line and turn corners Cutting fabric from a template You will need to bring: Your sewing machine (in good working order with instruction manual and any accessories that came with the machine).
