Button Making at the Framework Knitters Museum - Intro to the Dorset Button with Felt Bookmark, Brooch or Pocket Hug

X

Description

Button making - intro to the Dorset button with felt bookmark, brooch or pocket hug. With this 3-hour relaxed and convivial workshop, I will introduce you to this 400-year-old heritage craft, which is the Dorset button with the most well-known type: the cartwheel. I will provide you with everything you need, show you the techniques with a few extra tips along the way from the very start, and up to how to attach the finished button on your project. This is a project-based workshop, which means that at the end of it, not only will you be able to make a Cartwheel Dorset Button, but you will take home a beautiful felt bookmark, brooch or pocket hug, ornate with your button and some simple embroidery stitches of your choice. In fact, you are not pressured into making something I specified...if a scissors keep or a hanging decoration for Mother's Day is more your thing, then go with that! :-) I will need a minimum of 4 participants to run this workshop and I will have a maximum of 12 spaces available. Please let me know via the 'message the tutor' button if you have any dietary requirements, allergies, etc... If I have to cancel due to minimum number of participants not met or any other reason, a full refund will be given.
