This is your time to slow down, take a break, and learn a new skill while enjoying the company of new friends. This is course is great for beginners, or those recently started out, to build a great foundation for beautiful hand lattering. By the end of the course, you'll have the confidence and ability to make calligraphy a part of your creative repertoire, creating beautiful hand-lettered forms in all your projects. Yes! This course is designed for beginners and those just starting out. We will cover the basics of how to hold the pen (different from a normal pen!), and build our way up to letters, words and adding your own flourish.
Brushpen calligraphy is a hand lettering form using a specifically designed brush pen. Like the top of a paintbrush, the tip of the pen bends giving you the contrasting thin upstrokes and thick downstrokes that characterise stunning calligraphy.
Absolutely! We will cover the basics and foundational strokes, but there will be space to go at your own pace. We will practice and master different strokes, letters and words and will be able to guide you past the beginners stage to adding extra flourish and consistency to your practice.
There is free on street parking available in and around the area, including the Bingley Road the venue is located on, and Victoria Road nearby.
Yes! Snacks will be provided each session, and hot drinks will be available for purchase at the venue.
Anyone over the age of 16 is welcome! I run regular calligraphy workshops and teach people from age 16 through to 70+. If you fancy coming along, then you are so welcome :)
