Description
In this course you will enter the world of creative book repairs. This course is an opportunity to acquire and take home the skills you need to transform your books, and learn a few useful conservation techniques so you can take care of your most treasured books. If you have books you want to repair, all the better but don’t worry if you haven't any, as I have a large selection of old works that need restoration, from cloth back books and 18th century leather bound books are regular projects here. If you are bringing a book needing a repair, email me a photo of the book you'd like to work on so I can make sure the materials needed are in stock. This course is an opportunity to work alongside a professional bookbinder, as I will not only teach and support you through your project, but also share with you conservation work that I am currently busy with. I enjoy teaching and helping people to create unusual projects, and have been working as a professional restoration bookbinder for over twelve years. The course is designed to be both accessible for beginners and engaging for intermediate abilities.
