Enjoy the therapeutic experience of working with natural wool and silk fibres and explore the amazing wool painting technique with professional artist and art tutor Raya Brown. This is not felt making. The unique technique involves laying and shaping fibres, cutting and manipulating them to achieve beautiful images, vibrant textures and watercolour effects. This is a workshop for anyone. The complete beginner as well as people with some experience in art and textiles are welcome. This is a step by step workshop which is designed for you to have fun with different wools and experiment with colour and fibres. By the end of this class you will have made a fantastic gift for yourself or a friend - a wool painting which you will put in a glass frame and take with you! The course will cover: - Learning the basics of composition in art. - Exploring the qualities of wool and other fibres. - Acquire new skills of working with loose fibres. - Learning wool painting techniques and methods. - Making your own fibre picture. - Unique relaxing therapeutic experience of working with natural fibres. - You will be able to purchase a glass frame from the tutor if you wish. There will be a break for lunch between approximately 12.30 and 1.30. There is a coffee shop on site for coffee. Attendees at our classes are visited by coffee shop staff regularly throughout the day to take any orders. Anything consumed during your day is sold at 10% discount. As well as a large choice of hot and cold drinks, the menu comprises savoury choices including sandwiches, paninis, jacket potatoes and soups. For those with a sweet tooth, there is a selection of cakes and scones made in house with gluten free and vegan options.

Should you wish to cancel your attendance on a workshop more than 4 weeks before the workshop date you will receive a refund.

If a pattern is available for the workshop and no refund is possible then Tudor Rose Patchwork will arrange for you to receive the pattern.

Yes. We have a shop you can visit alongside our two classrooms and coffee shop. There is a huge selection of products for crafters: sewing, knitting, crochet, patchwork and quilting, mixed media, haberdashery, embroidery and so much more.
You will be emailed a requirements list in advance. You can buy everything you don't already have in our shop. We will always make clear anything that you need for the day that we don't sell so you have time to source elsewhere.

Upon arrival, park in the car park at the front of the shop. Unload your vehicle into your classroom. Staff will then advise you where to park your car for the day at the rear of the complex.
