Beginners Silk Painting - Silk Art - Blended Monkey
Description
Suitable for children 14+ accompanied by an adult. Learn how to take a piece of blank silk and create a beautiful 55 cm x 55 cm silk scarf or wall hanging painted in your own or provided design. In this relaxing and therapeutic silk painting session, you'll discover how to take a design of your choice (there will be a selection of designs to use if you don't want to come up with your own), trace your design on the silk using a fade pen, attach the silk to a frame with special pins, and apply gutta contouring medium to provide outlines. Once the gutta has dried (after lunch) you'll learn how to mix various colours to create your very own palette and how to apply the paint to the silk. We'll also touch on the use of salt techniques to add some interesting effects. At the end of the session, you'll "fix" your work so the colours are fast and your piece is safe to take home. The whole procedure will be explained from start to finish by me and also with the aid of real-time footage on a large screen showing each step up close. The workshop is taking place at the lovely Farmland Museum & Denny Abbey. Their fabulous Docky Box Tearoom has some truly scrumptious food to tempt you at lunchtime - plenty of yummy treats, so you won't go hungry. Remember to pre-order your meal when you arrive. This would make a fabulous CRAFTY GIFT for someone - so drop us a line and we can post out to you/the recipient a complimentary personalised gift certificate for this experience🎁
