Description

Do you have a special occasion such as a wedding, christening or a trip to the races coming up this summer? Why not spend a sociable day making a fascinator or headpiece to finish off your special outfit, which you can bring with you to match colours. Imagine how amazed your friends and family will be when you tell them that you made your fascinator yourself! This is a lovely way to spend time with your gal pals or to gift to a special someone, or as a “present to self!”

FAQs

Parking outside the shop or on Queen Street is only for up to one hour, unless you display a disabled badge. Please be considerate of other course participants by ensuring you allow sufficient time to park and settle in for your course for it to start without delay. Parking is available on adjacent streets or town car parks: https://carparkmaps.co.uk/carparks/Amble#google_vignette Courses do occasionally over-run!

Please bring your basic sewing kit, to include: needles, a thimble, small scissors, dressmaking shears. We will provide any other materials, eg matching threads. You do not need a sewing machine for this workshop.

Please bring a packed lunch (which can be kept in the fridge), or purchase locally. We have a baker across the street and several cafes and supermarkets nearby. You can bring food back to eat in the craft room should you wish. The lunch break will be around 45 minutes, which also allows you time to browse the shop, where you will get 10% discount. We will provide tea, coffee, and biscuits.

Please either bring your outfit to the workshop, or post swatches of the colours at least a week before the workshop date (eg cut from paint charts rather than sending images, as the colour may be altered on photographs). We will do our best to find suitable colours to work with your outfit, but please be aware that these may not be an exact match.

Yes, you can use a hair comb or hair slide, depending on the size of headpiece you wish to make.

Unfortunately, our training area is upstairs and there is no lift. There are also step into and inside the shop, and narrow areas. If you can manage of of this independently, you will be fine.
