Diane & Jimmy reviewed: Blacksmithing Experience in Grassington (3 hours)

"The 3 hour experience was a birthday gift for hubby and I decided to join him. I must admit I was a bit nervous beforehand as it is out of my comfort zone however from the moment I met Richard he put me at ease. He is very helpful, and encouraging. We made a boot scraper with a tall handle and a decorative piece on the side too. We’re very proud of it! Thank you Richard "

Chris Jones reviewed: Traditional Hedge-Laying

"Well I thought at my age I had learn't enough to lay a hedge having worked on eco tasks for many years. However with Peter's guidance I have come home with a proper understanding of the process and my skill level has improved considerably. It shows you can teach an old dog new tricks. The long journey was well worth it."

Denmark Farm Conservation Centre responded:

"Fantastic Chris, thank you for making the effort to join us for this course. Hope you can use your new skills back at home. Best wishes. Mara"

Annie reviewed: Mosaics for the home and garden

"What a fabulous day! We did the whole day mosaic course and thoroughly enjoyed every single minute. It was a great combination of instruction and being allowed to get on ourselves. Also a good balance of being allowed to be creative and having a supply of templates to choose from alongside the experience of Frances when required for advice. We worked with other novice mosaicers as well as repeat offenders. I would definitely recommend this course to others. It’s quite possible that we will be going back for another day. PS. Fabulous supply of quality biscuits too. "

Mosaic Mania responded:

"Hi Annie. Thank you so much for this. I'm so glad you enjoyed the course and it was lovely to have you bot. Your mosaics look lovely! I'll let you know when they are grouted. Thanks again. Frances."

Pete Gathercole reviewed: Yorkshire Rose stone carving class

"I've always admired the art of stone carving but I never thought I'd be able to have a go. Helen is a remarkable tutor. She gives you the confidence that you can carve something; in my case, a Yorkshire Rose. The biggest boost for me was that she made me feel that any mistakes I made could, with her advice and expertise, be corrected!! It was a really enjoyable and enlightening day. I'll be back."

The West Riding Stonecarving Association responded:

"Thank you for your great review. It's very much appreciated. Best wishes Helen"

Ivan Grove reviewed: Fearless Drawing. Learn to draw in a fun way.

"I am a complete novice so the fearless drawing title got my attention. This is not a 'how to draw shapes' course' , it's a get the pencils out try these different approaches course. It was a good friendly atmosphere, in a small group, with encouragement and positive comments. I have not become an artist overnight but I now feel confident to try and not be worried about the result, practice will improve my work and the techniques will help me as I progress."

Laura Donaldson responded:

"Thanks so much for the review Ivan. It was lovely to welcome you to the studio and I'm so pleased that you feel you have the confidence to move forward creatively. I saw your style really shine through on the day and I'm sure that the more you embrace it, the stronger your work will get. I particularly liked your tree drawing! Cheers Laura"

Harriet reviewed: Crafty Basketry's Basket Weaving for Beginners - Day Course in Winchelsea

"I did the one day basket course at King John's Nursery and couldn't have been happier. Despite the weather, we had an absolutely fantastic day in the barn, making our baskets. The class size was small, there was plenty of room for us all to manoeuvre, and I came away with something that I really love and am very proud of! I particularly appreciated how Marianne supported our creativity by allowing us to choose our own style of basket, try out different weaving structures and incorporate some hedgerow materials too. There was a really great choice of different willow to work with, and very clear explanations and information about how to source and prepare our own materials so that we can carry on making baskets after the course. She even followed up with written information, so I feel confident to have a go on my own now, but I will definitely be back for another course in the near future. Highly recommend! "

Crafty Basketry responded:

"Hello Harriet, Over the moon with your review and recommendation! What can I say. Oh, I know! You were the easiest student to teach, as you picked up the techniques so quickly. Must be your knitting and math expert background. I hope you'll have lots more fun, weaving baskets, if not at another course, then just following my written notes and perhaps one day I can tempt you with new challenges / techniques. All the best for now, Marianne "

Emily H reviewed: 1-2-1 digital photography for beginners in Oxfordshire

"Aimee is so knowledgeable. She teaches photography and so has a real understanding of all the functions of a camera and how they relate to the image you then take. She makes her explanations easy to understand and then allows you time to put them into practice to embed the learning. Not only that but Aimee is a really lovely person who is very easy to get on with. We had a fabulous day in Oxford, I learnt loads and had a real laugh as well. I’d thoroughly recommend this to anyone who either doesn’t have a clue how to use a D-SLR camera (like me) or anyone looking to develop their skills. "
