Maker's bio

Aaron Petersen is a second generation, fine art trained blacksmith, previously the blacksmith at the museum of Welsh Life at St Fagans. He also worked as a lecturer and is a qualified teacher. Courses are run at the family forge in St Clears, West Wales. We are within driving distance of a number of well known locations, including Tenby. Why not combine a course with your holiday? All the admin is done by Trudi, assisted by Caio, our laid back lurcher.

"This was a great course to do, Aaron was an amazing talented tutor explaining each stage of the smithing process. I rarely have enjoyed such a craft course as this one . Top draw training from a super talented Master blacksmith. If your unsure about doing this course put any doubts to one side, it was a fantastic two days working in the forge…I made a coat hook rack, a pair of fireside tongs and a Rams head poker absolutely chuffed.. Thank you Aaron "

"What a superb day I had. A course to enjoy for anyone, regardless of background, age or experience. Aaron is a fount of knowledge and experience, and very welcoming. You can't fail to have a good time casting yourself to the role of a blacksmith. I could easily get hooked on this as a hobby, just need to persuade the other half to let me buy a furnace, anvil, some tools, .......!! ;o)"

"Yes and now recommending to wife of a friend ...the perfect present for the person who can't stop making, fiddling, tinkering and who already has more than enough tools bought as presents already. Also provides the giver with a quiet day to do what they want they want. best present i ever got...they made it an excellent days experience. 5 star P.S. still got the poker"
